A Story of Unfolding Wings is a short stop-motion film made entirely of hand-woven images. It tells about the journey I made as a trans woman. About living under a male mask, the discovery and taking off the mask. The waiting on the waiting list, the diagnostic phase and the transition that followed.

Actually, I’ve never been male. I just happened to have a testosterone-based body. Now that my body is cleared from testosterone, and estrogen has taken over, I find that my body is finally resonating at the same wavelength as my brain. I still have chapters to work on, but by finally living my life as a woman, my identity issues have come to peace.
With A Story of Unfolding Wings I want to show how I have been experiencing all the stages of my transition. How undeniably important the transition is for transgender people who need it. I also want to hearten trans people who are on the terribly long waiting lists to finally enter the diagnostic stage, encourage them to hang on. Salvation is coming!
